JPRO is widely recognized for its industry-leading bi-directional tests, also known as bi-directional commands. These commands allow the user to send instructions from the diagnostic tool to the vehicle and receive data in return, enabling two-way communication.
One popular test in JPRO is the cylinder cutout test. To access it, navigate to the bi-directional control feature in JPRO, where tests are sorted by component type. Simply select the component from the left-side menu and choose the appropriate test.
The cylinder cutout test helps identify a faulty cylinder after a fault code or symptom points to an injector issue. When running the test, JPRO commands the vehicle to isolate and test individual cylinders. For example, if disabling the third cylinder produces no change, it indicates a potential issue with that cylinder, guiding technicians toward targeted troubleshooting and repairs.
