DIY Mercedes Upgrades and Modifications

1 Door Projector Light

This light is installed at the bottom of the doors. When you open the door, a Mercedes-Benz logo will be projected on the ground. It uses the existing wiring that is on your door and can be replaced in just a few minutes. It is as easy as pulling out the old light and reconnecting the power cable to the new projector light. The light projected is white and blue and matches the MB logo.

2 Android DVD GPS Navigation Command Upgrade
The COMAND system on Mercedes-Benz are not the best entertainment systems that’re out there. You can upgrade the navigation with this 7-inch unit that runs Android OS. Therefore you can install any app that you find in the Google Play Store including the awesome Google Maps navigation. On top of that, this unit can play DVD and supports steering wheel control. Provides build-in Bluetooth handsfree calling allowing you to pair your Android or Apple smartphone. Built in rear view camera option. Can also connect to any WiFi network. It also supports Bluetooth connections which mean that you can plug in an ELM327 adapter into the OBD2 port under the dashboard, install the Torque app from Play Store and have fun to troubleshoot your Mercedes-Benz from your COMAND system. If the check engine light comes on, just open the Torque app and read ECU fault codes. This radio looks almost the same as the factory COMMAND, but it’s way more function and awesome than the outdated Mercedes-Benz command system.

3 Mercedes Sport Steering Wheel – Walnut Wood
If the wood steering wheel is not a standard feature on Mercedes-Benz. It was an optional upgrade, and now and then you will see a few Mercedes-Benz cars with the wood steering wheel. 4 Rear Trunk Spoiler Upgrade
This is ABS plastic rear spoiler that can be added to the trunk. The nice thing is that it has the tape so you don’t have to drill holes into the trunk. You can paint it to match the color of your car. The paint code of your Mercedes-Benz is on the driver’s door frame. It’s a three digit code.

8 Leather Key Cover
You have a cover on your smartphone right? Why not get a cover for your Mercedes-Benz keys as well. Replacement keys cost nearly as much as your smartphone. This case will protect the buttons from wearing out prematurely, which they do. It can also help your key if you drop it. The cover nicely matches the shape of your existing Mercedes-Benz key. Not sure why Mercedes-Benz didn’t install chrome door lock pins instead of the cheap plastic. These door lock pins stand out as soon as you open the door. The old ones can be easily removed and the new door lock pins thread in. You can replace all four pins in less than ten minutes.  You can get pins that have the Mercedes or AMG logo.

11 MHI Bluetooth Interface Module Cradle Adapter
This is a Bluetooth adapter will add hands-free calling to your Mercedes-Benz as long as you have an MHI connector on your car. This works will all Mercedes-Benz models as long as you have an MHI connector.

12 PCMCIA Command  Card Adapter Converter
This adapter will work on Mercedes-Benz cars that have the PCMCIA command system  E-Class, C-Class, and S-Class. This is a great solution to upgrade that old technology on your Mercedes-Benz It will allow you to read files from SD cards up to 32GB. You can store up to 10,000 songs on a 32GB SD card and play them directly from the command. Please note that on early command models SD cards can not have a storage capacity of more than 8GB. Not all Mercedes-Benz come with HID low beam. The headlights may look like they are HID but in most cases, they are not. It’s a shame that HID was not standard an all Mercedes-Benz models after 2000.
