What is BMW FSC Code?

BMW FSC code is a certification authorized by BMW group.It just like the Miscrosoft.The BMW FSC is generated by BMW server in encrypted method when BMW group producing their cars. When you want to update your BMW navigation or change your bmw navigation maps version,you need to enter a code called “FSC Code”.So many people need to get bmw fsc code to update their navigation maps.

What Relationship Between FSC and VO?

VO is short called of “Vehicle Order”,which is relevant to configuration and it define the content of BMW FSC,such as the difference of Miscrosoft software version.Of course,some low configuration models don’t have FSC.

In this article,i will share easy guide on how to generate bmw fsc code the easiest way.It only take you few minutes.

 

What you need for generate bmw fsc code in this guide?

1.BMW ENET. (Buy it $16.99 or build one by yourself:DIY a BMW ENET Guide)

2. BMW AiCoder V4.6. Click here to download.

STEP 1:Install BMW AiCoder Software and use BMW ENET to connect laptop with your car.

Click “DetectCar” and “Connect” to communicate to the vehicle.

STEP 2:Click “Get ECUs List” to bring up the list of all modules.

STEP 3:Click the “FSC” button or select “FSC Tools” from the menu to run the FSC tool as below screen shown.

Now the FSC Tool screen will be displayed. In the left list, double-click “00DE” which means navigation or select 00DE and press “Load FSC” button.

For Country, in this example, enter 00A6, which means Korea. (You shoulf enter the code according to your own)

Enter 0028, which is the version of this map in VerCode.

The remaining VIN or NBT / CIC information will already be entered, so there is no further change.

When you click the “Generate” button, you get FSC code created at the bottom!!!

 

How to generate BMW NBT & CIC FSC code

BMW FSC Code is required for BMW navigation map system update.In this article i will share the guide on how to generate BMW NBT & CIC FSC Code.

Tools you need for generate fsc code.

1.Laptop installed E-sys.(BMW E-sys Free Download)

2.BMW ENET Cable.(You can build one by yourself or buy it $16.99 )

3.FCS Code Generator Software.(Password: “Eintracht_Frankfurt”)

The first step you need to do is extracting the DE or 1B file:

Fire up E-sys make sure your connected to the F20 (notF20_Dir ect) via your VIN and then in the left hand vertical menu select FSC Extended.

For NBT (DE File):

In the Parameter section enter :

* Diagnostic Address(hex) = 0x63 2.
* Click on the Identifybutton and the Base variant HU_NBT will be populated
* Application ID for NBT= 0xDE
* Upgrade Index= 0x1

For CIC (1B File):

In the Parameter section enter :

* Diagnostic Address(hex) = 0x63
* Click on the Identifybutton and the Base variantHU_CIC will be populated
* Application ID for NBT= 0x1B
* Upgrade Index= 0x1

 

In the Action section:

* SelectStore FSC and move from left to the right
* Click on the Read button
* Click Save and and name the file in the following format fsc where XXXXXXX is last seven letter s/numbers of your VIN or your donor NBT vin if you have retrofitted the NBT.
* [Optional] Youcan now disconnect E-sys from your car as the next stages can be performed offline.

 

Getting the Code Generation Software:

Unzip the directory attached. The directory can be placed/run from anywhere.

Generating the FSC code using the BMW_CIC_NBT_FSC_Generator for NBT:

If you are generating NBT, copy fsc.exe in the NBT_FSC directory to the tools directory

* Place your XXXXXXX.fsc into your toolsdirector y(same location as the Base64.exe)
* Open a command prompt(DOS Screen) and go to the toolsdirectory
* Type “Base64 XXXXXXX.FSC XXXXXXX_000DE001.FSC” and pressenter
* Open BMWFSCNBT Generator .exe
* Click “Br owse” and selectthe XXXXXXX_000DE001.FSC file yougener ated in step 3, it should be in your toolsdirectory.
* Choose your map productfrom the list(For me itwas”Road Map EUROPE NEXT 20151)
* Click “Generate”

Generating the FSC code using the BMW_CIC_NBT_FSC_Generator for CIC:

If you are generating CIC, copy fsc.exe in the CIC_FSC directory to the tools directory

* Place your XXXXXXX.fsc into your tools directory (same location as the Base64.exe)
* Open a command prompt (DOS Screen) and go to the tools directory
* Type “Base64 XXXXXXX.FSC XXXXXXX_0001B001.FSC” and press enter
* Open BMWFSCNBTGenerator.exe
* Click “Browse” and select the XXXXXXX_0001B001.FSC file you generated in step 3, it should be in your tools directory.
* Choose your map product from the list (Road Map EUROPE PREMIUM 20141)
* Click “Generate”
